A car crashed after failing to stop for police in north London on Sunday morning, leaving six people needing medical attention.

The vehicle failed to stop for a marked police car in Walthamtow’s Palmerston Road shortly after 11am before colliding with two other vehicles, a Met Police spokesperson said.

The occupants of the other two vehicles sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the car being pursued was rushed to hospital as a “precaution”.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. A man has since been arrested.

One of the vehicles affected in the collision appeared to be a W15 bus, with pictures showing the bus next to a damaged car on the road.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said six people were treated by medics in total, two of whom were taken to hospital.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).

“We treated six patients. We took two people to hospital and discharged the other four at the scene.”

The road remains closed both ways between Mansfield Road and Melbourne Road while police investigate. The bus route W15 also remains on detour as of Sunday afternoon.
