Fans of the Netflix hit show "Stranger Things" have been forced to wait until 2024 for the show's fifth season to begin. It has been delayed, like many other productions, by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike that began on May 2.

The Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), in support of WGA, is on strike as well.
But a taste of the Netflix (NFLX) -) hit show appears to be coming to a Walmart (WMT) -) near you, if a social media influencer is to be believed.
Instagram META user @snackoalator posted an announcement about a new product Walmart is said to be introducing, based on an ice cream shop featured in "Stranger Things."
"Oh yes - Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream is Arriving at Walmart nationwide!" the influencer wrote, "If you haven't watched Stranger Things, Scoops Ahoy is the ice cream shop that Steve and Robin worked at... and now Walmart is bringing their world to stores now even though Season 5 won't be out until next year."

"They're showing up around the country now so you should see them soon... they are not by me yet though," @snackolator continued. "Are you grabbing any of these? Really loving all of these new lines of products at Walmart - hopefully they live up to the Scoops Ahoy name!"

The new 'Stranger Things' season has no set date
There is no exact timetable for the release of the new "Stranger Things" season.
But the series' fourth season set an all-time streaming record when it became available on Netflix in May 2022.
In just one week, it totaled 7.2 billion minutes of viewing time, according to Pop Crush.
That was the highest Nielsen weekly total, according to The Hollywood Reporter, for any streaming title since it began releasing weekly rankings in 2020.
"Previously, no streaming show measured by Nielsen had ever reached 6 billion minutes in a single week, let alone 7 billion," according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Only Tiger King (twice) and Ozark in the spring of 2020 — amid pandemic lockdowns — had topped 5 billion minutes prior to Stranger Things."

The science fiction and horror drama is set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Ind. A main feature of the show is a hostile alternate dimension called the Upside Down.
The show endeavors to recall nostalgic elements of 1980s pop culture.
In fact, it revived a newfound interest in English singer and songwriter Kate Bush, after her hit song "Running up That Hill" was featured in a critical scene in season four of the series.
