Walmart adds famous meals Target, Kroger, and Costco can't sell

When you walk down the Las Vegas Strip, you notice two things.

First — and there's no way to miss this one — Las Vegas has legal marijuana and a lot of tourists have opted to very publicly partake. Second, you see that seemingly every big-name celebrity chef has taken up residence on the Strip.

You can't look in any direction on the south and central parts of the Las Vegas Strip dominated by Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International without seeing a familiar name. Guy Fieri is seemingly everywhere while Bobby Flay, Wolfgang Puck, Robert Irvine, and many other names you know (mostly from the Food Network) are celebrated in huge signs, billboards, and marquees that advertise their presence.

Having a celebrity name attached helps gain attention in a very crowded marketplace. Would every media outlet write about a new restaurant called the Bedford at Caesars Paris Las Vegas if the owner was simply good at cooking? Probably not.

But have Martha Stewart attach her name and the establishment gets more publicity and has a better chance of standing out. The same is true of a fish and chips shop, a pub, or even a steakhouse.

Just open one of those on the Las Vegas Strip and the odds for success are very long. Add Gordon Ramsay's name, not to mention his culinary skills, and the public takes notice.

People want to eat the food they've seen on TV and they also want to see if the celebrity chefs who have made a name tearing other chefs apart on television can actually deliver the goods. Ramsay has given them that chance up and down the Strip, offering everything from fast-casual to high-end fine dining, and even a "Hell's Kitchen" themed restaurant.

Now, the famed "Kitchen Nightmares" chef has brought some of his most famous recipes to a very unlikely place, the frozen food aisle at Walmart (WMT) -).

Walmart adds Gordon Ramsay meals

While you see a few chain restaurants like P.F. Chang's and TGI Friday's offering frozen items, that section of the grocery store is generally pretty bleak. It's mostly filled with dated brands like Stouffer's along with an endless array of frozen pizzas, french fries, and vegetables that could readily be purchased fresh a few aisles away.

Walmart, however, has found a way to make its frozen food aisle a destination in a way that actually take business from rivals including Kroger, Target, and Costco (COST) -). And, you can thank Ramsay for making that happen, according to a new report from the Snackolator Instagram page.

"I never thought I'd see the day when Gordon Ramsay made a line of frozen dinners, but that day is today! Now exclusively at Walmart is a line of eight different frozen dinners from @gordongram that are arriving in stores now," the site posted.

Snackolator also shared a list of the meals and they include some that are served at multiple Gordon Ramsay restaurants (the descriptions are meant to be read in the chef's voice):

  • A beautiful Fish and Chips dinner battered to absolute perfection.
  • The most luxurious Shepherd's Pie perfectly baked.
  • A Lemon Caper Chicken served with crisp potatoes and seasoned broccoli.
  • The finest Braised Beef cooked in a red wine sauce.
  • My famous Four Cheese Risotto because none of you ever get them made in time.
  • A delicious Four Cheese Macaroni Bake in a perfect blend of cheeses.

The line also includes Ramsay's take on lasagna with a bolognese sauce and chicken pot pie.
