Wallsend girl bags place in the final of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain 2022

A young girl from North Tyneside has bagged a place in the final of the prestigious Miss Junior Teen Great Britain 2022.

Amelia Foulkes-Jones from Wallsend has beaten off competition from girls from across Great Britain to be named as one of the finalists and will represent North Tyneside at the final.

The 12-year-old will now have the chance to win the crown in a spectacular grand final with the winner also walking away with some incredible goodies – including a cash prize.

The grand final of Miss Teen Great Britain will be held in 2022 in Blackpool.

Amelia said: "I am so excited and privileged to have made it to the final, it is a great achievement and something which I am very proud of! I hope to use this opportunity as a force for good.

"Making it to the grand final has been an absolute dream come true - I will be able to represent my hometown and be in with the chance to win the Miss Teen Great Britain Crown!"

Amelia has danced from the age of two and loves nothing more than to perform and entertain people.

She has been part of SA Theatre School in Byker since she was seven years old and had embraced the opportunity to perform in a number of pantomimes and numerous shows.

Amelia has also represented Move It Studios in Wallsend in many stage competitions, performing successfully in the song and dance sections.

More recently Amelia has joined Italia Conti Associates Newcastle is now taking on the challenge of entering the world of pageantry.

Using her platform, Amelia is hoping to raise money for the charity Together for Short Lives and is currently in the process of organising a Christmas raffle.

She has already raised £800 for Together for the charity for children's palliative care up to now but wants to raise more and has since set up a Just Giving page.

Amelia is very grateful for the support she has received from local businesses, supplying products and vouchers for her upcoming raffle.
