Wales star the subject of worldwide chase for his signature

Wales number nine Rhys Webb has a big decision to make on his future with a host of clubs across the globe interested in securing his signature.

The 34-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Ospreys.

A number of clubs in France have expressed an interest, with former French champions Biarritz, who are now in the Pro D2, particularly keen to lure Webb to the Basque country.

There has also been significant interest from two clubs in Major League Rugby in the US, along with sides in Super Rugby.

WalesOnline understands the Ospreys would like to retain Webb but with wages set to drop and a salary cap of £4.5m eventually being brought in, that could prove difficult.

After a few years in the international wilderness, the 40 cap international was brought back into the Wales squad by Warren Gatland, putting in a superb player of the match performance against Italy, putting himself in pole position to play in his first ever Rugby World Cup, having been cruelly denied by injury in the past.

Despite approaching the tail end of his career, Webb has been in superb form for the Ospreys which hasn't gone unnoticed.
