Wales fans left baffled as Gareth Bale spends an age fixing man bun while trying to tackle Polish player

Gareth Bale is never far from the spotlight, but he caught the eye of Wales fans and TV viewers in an unusual way against Poland.

Wales fell to a 1-0 defeat last night, with a magical Robert Lewandowski assist setting up Karol Swiderski's winner to relegate Bale and his team from the top tier of the Nations League.

As the action unfolded, it didn't go unnoticed when the Welsh skipper lost his head band - causing him to hold his hair up and try to fix his hairstyle whilst trying to tackle a Polish player!

The Wales talisman was actually still holding his hair, attempting to put it back in place and stop his locks from impeding his line of sight, whilst tracking an opponent near halfway. It was a truly bizarre moment in the match and seemed to last for some time.

We've seen Bale expose his long hair in the past, with a quite iconic image being produced when he let his hair down during a Real Madrid match in 2020.

Welsh fans were left baffled by what happened at Cardiff City Stadium last night.

"Bale's hair. Trying to defend whilst redoing your top knot. Who says men can't multi-task?" joked one on social media.

"Best part of the game was bale trying to do his hair and play at the same time!" said another.

There were plenty of other remarks, too.

After what appeared to be an eternity, Bale's man bun was finally back in place - and everyone could focus on watching the football.
