There is still no timescale for a planned tram extension to a major housing development, Nottingham City Council has said. Progress is being made at the Fairham site, which is near Gotham and Clifton, with infrastructure being readied to support the 3,000 homes which will be built.
The new neighbourhood, when fully built, will have one million square feet of employment space, a primary school, community and sports facilities, and a neighbourhood centre. As part of the plans, an extension of the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram network was proposed.
The plans would see the line extended from Clifton South Park and Ride to the site, which is visible from the A453. However, progress on any extensions was delayed in 2021.

In an update issued last week, Nottingham City Council said there was still no timescale or source of funding for the extension, but assured that housing developers were "safeguarding the route". A spokesperson said: "The housing developers are safeguarding the route of a possible extension to NET through the Fairham site, from Clifton South."
"There is currently no timescale for when an extension would be constructed, and no confirmed source of funding for this."
