Waikanae Pool popular as heatwave hits Kāpiti

The popular Waikanae Pool was an ideal spot in Kāpiti to cool off as the sweltering temperature rose today.

The main pool, toddler's pool, giant inflatable balance beam and hydroslide were in constant use as people enjoyed the outdoor picturesque surroundings.

Others chilled out under tree canopies or shade sails.

The pool became more popular throughout the day as the mercury continued to rise into the late 20s making for one of the district's hottest day's yet.
