Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has accused fellow footballer Jamie Vardy of "running scared" after their public disagreement over the infamous "Wagatha Christie" trial.
As reported by the Daily Record, the former England striker was fuming after Jamie branded his evidence as pure "nonsense" in this week's hearing.
Mr Rooney had said, under oath, that he had told Leicester City player Jamie to tell wife Rebekah to "calm down" at the 2016 Euros, as her activity on social media were "causing problems and distractions", and claimed even the FA wanted this to be stopped.

After the trial, Jamie Vardy read a statement directly outside court and stated that: "Wayne is talking nonsense.
“He must be confused because he never spoke to me about issues concerning Becky’s media work at Euro 2016.”
A source close to the Rooney team told the Mirror: “Wayne feels Jamie should have had the guts to take the stand and say on oath what he wanted to say.
“That way he could have been questioned on who was telling the truth. Instead he just made his statement outside the court and scuttled off with Becky.”
Another source close to the trial said that Rebekah, 40, would have cleared Rooney's evidence weeks before the hearing took place, as all witness statements were disclosed.
The source said: “If Jamie thought Wayne was not telling truth then he could have prepared his own statement and given it from the witness box like Wayne did.”
This witness statement was the first time Mr Rooney had given evidence in the High Court case brought by Rebekah Vardy against wife Coleen.
He told how then-England boss Roy Hodgson and his assistant Gary Neville asked him to intervene amid negative media coverage surrounding the Euros.
Rooney has stayed adamant that he "100 per cent" spoke to Vardy at the time.
The Wagatha Christie trial continues today.
