Wade Graham's NRL future is locked in with the Cronulla veteran agreeing to terms on a new one-year deal at the Sharks.

Graham came off contract at the end of last season and as of earlier this week was still to finalise his short-term future amid ongoing negotiations.

But that is over now with the 32-year-old extending his NRL career into a 16th season.

"I'm really proud and grateful to have the opportunity to play on for another year here at the Sharks ," Graham said in a statement on Friday.

"I'm looking forward to getting back, ripping in to another pre-season and helping the squad to improve on the progress we've made as a club last year."

One of the NRL's most experienced players, Graham had entered 2022 off the back of several concussions last year questioning whether he would play on.

However he found his form again as the Sharks finished second and reached this year's semi-finals before being knocked out by South Sydney.

Graham confirmed late in the season it was his intention to play on and sign season-by-season contracts from this point.

But there was speculation on whether a new deal would come to fruition when he was the biggest name still not contracted for 2023 when November 1 arrived.

Graham's deal makes him the last remaining member of Cronulla's 2016 premiership-winning team to still be playing for the club following Andrew Fifita's retirement last month.
