WA Police are investigating the death of a man in his 20s after his body was found on the front lawn of a house in Perth's east in the early hours of the morning.
St John Ambulance paramedics were called to an address on Kalamunda Road in High Wycombe, where the man was found dead about 3.20am on Tuesday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Fogell said homicide detectives had taken carriage of the investigation into the "suspicious" death.
"This man appears to have been a victim of an assault and has injuries which police suspect have contributed to his death," he said.
"I'm not in possession of specifics relating to what injuries he did sustain."
Forensic officers were among those who gathered evidence at the house on Tuesday as police searched for answers.
Detectives are trying to identify the man who located the body and contacted St John.
Police suspect attack not random
Senior Sergeant Fogell said the death did not pose a threat to the community.
"I don't believe this is a random attack and therefore members of the community should not be concerned, they should carry on with their normal business," he said.
"We're trying to sift through a mountain of information.
"Once we've got a clearer picture of the circumstances which have led to this man's tragic death, then we may present more information."
Anyone with information, particularly anyone who visited Kalamunda Road in High Wycombe in the early hours of Tuesday morning, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.
