A man who allegedly kidnapped a nine-year-old girl from a Perth park before indecently assaulting her has been remanded in custody.
Ashley James Bropho, 39, faced Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday on several charges, according to court records.
Police allege he approached the girl, who was not known to him, at a park north of Perth on Tuesday morning and coerced her to a nearby house where he indecently dealt with her.
"The girl was able to leave the house and alert family members of the incident. The man was taken into custody a short time later," West Australian police said in a statement.
Bropho was charged with kidnapping, two counts of indecent dealings with a child under 13 and encouraging a child to engage in sexual behaviour.
He was refused police bail and is due to return to court on July 27.
