A recent poll has revealed that voters are expressing mixed opinions on President Donald Trump's Cabinet nominees, with two nominees in particular facing less favorable responses from the public.
The survey, which asked respondents about their stance on confirming Trump's selections for key positions, highlighted Pete Hegseth, the nominee for secretary of defense, as the least popular choice. The poll showed that 40% of voters opposed Hegseth's confirmation, compared to 31% who supported it, resulting in a 9-point margin against his confirmation. Despite this, Hegseth was confirmed last week.
Another nominee, Kash Patel, who is being considered for the position of FBI director, also encountered resistance from voters. The poll indicated that 38% of respondents would not confirm Patel, while 34% expressed support for his confirmation, marking a 4% difference in favor of opposition. Additionally, 24% of respondents admitted to never having heard of Patel, and 4% responded with 'Don't know.'

Conducted from December 6 to 9, 2024, the poll surveyed a total of 1,015 registered voters across the nation. The collaboration between Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research facilitated the data collection process.
Currently, Patel's confirmation hearing is ongoing in the Senate Judiciary Committee, where his nomination for the role of FBI director is being evaluated.
