Indianapolis Colts’ running back was nominated as the Week 16 FedEx Ground Player of the Week following his massive performance against the Titans on Sunday.
Taylor would end up rushing for 218 yards, the second-highest total of his career in a single game. This included two touchdown runs of 65 and 70 yards, along with Taylor averaging 7.5 yards per rush and finding the end zone three total times.
In addition to Taylor’s 218 yards, he would also eclipse the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season in this game, and the Colts as a team set a franchise single-game rushing record, totaling 335 yards on the ground.
Taylor was one of six players nominated for this weekly award. Also nominated were Jayden Daniels, Jared Goff, De’Von Achane, Chuba Hubbard, and Justin Jefferson.
As I’m sure you noticed, unlike in past years when there was a ground winner and an air winner of the award, this season there will be two winners regardless of the position. The FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Year will be announced during the week of the Super Bowl.
Colts’ fans can vote for Taylor here.
Each week during the 2024 season, FedEx will make donations of $2,000 in honor of the each winner to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States.
This is the second time this season that Taylor has been nominated for the award. The first came early on in the season against Chicago, where Taylor rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
