A number of awards were presented to volunteers at the Machan Trust in Larkhall last week.
The Lanarkshire charity offers a range of services to children, young people and their families within schools and the wider community, such as breakfast, lunch and after school groups, and a number of youth activities.
Monica Lennon , Central Scotland MSP, was invited along to the awards ceremony at the Old Schoolhouse to present several awards, including long service awards to four volunteers – Pam Colligan, Bob Allan, and Robert and RoseMay Clarkson – who have each volunteered for over 20 years.
There was also a staff long service award – for over 12 years of service – to Martha Rodger, and an award for 10 years as Chair to Dr Stuart Paton.
Monica also presented Representative Committee awards for their contribution to the Machan Trust to Robert and RoseMay Clarkson and Alastair McKillop.
Joan Harvie and Vera Beckett, who were in not in attendance, will also be recognised with these awards.
Monica told Lanarkshire Live : “It is always a pleasure to visit the Machan Trust and be reminded of the great work they do throughout the year in their local community.
“I was delighted to present a range of awards to a brilliant group of volunteers and staff who have devoted so much time and effort to the Trust over the years.
“Each and every one of them is very deserving of their award, and I thank them for their dedication to their local area.”

"Not only for this important event which acknowledged long service, commitment, and Machan Trust achievements but also the support offered in raising awareness, of the amazing work that is happening at The Machan Trust.
