Irish model and influencer Vogue Williams has blasted West Ham footballer Kurt Zouma after a video of the Premier League player kicking his cat around a kitchen surfaced.
Clips, obtained by The Sun, show the Frenchman, 27, slapping his pet’s face and another hurling a pair of designer shoes as the cat tries to escape.
Zouma’s brother, Yoan, filmed the disturbing footage, which was posted to Snapchat on Sunday afternoon, reports The Mirror.
Zouma played for The Hammers in Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Watford, leading to heavy criticism of the club and manager David Moyes.
And Vogue, who recently hit out at Boris Johnson, took to her social media to blast Zouma for his actions.
Posting to her 933,000 Instagram followers, she wrote: "Just saw this. Absolutely disgusting. Horrible, horrible man."
Attached was a statement from PETA UK about the video.
The presenter, 36, is currently pregnant with her third child with husband Spencer Matthews and is due to give birth in April.
Zouma has insisted the attack was an isolated incident.
In a statement, he said: “I want to apologise for my actions. There are no excuses for my behaviour, which I sincerely regret.
“I also want to say how deeply sorry I am to anyone who was upset by the video. I would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy.
“They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behaviour was an isolated incident that will not happen again.”
West Ham’s statement read: "West Ham United unreservedly condemns the actions of our player, Kurt Zouma, in the video that has circulated.
“We have spoken to Kurt and will be dealing with the matter internally, but we would like to make it clear that we in no way condone cruelty towards animals.”
