Vodafone internet down as hundreds of customers report problems connecting

Vodafone has fixed a technical issue after hundreds of customers were unable to access the internet.

Problems began at around 9am on Thursday morning. Global outage service Down Detector received over 1,330 complaints of users being unable to connect to their landline internet. Data at the time showed the problem to be UK-wide, with complaints starting from Glasgow and spreading as far as London.

Now Vodafone has confirmed a repair and issued an apology. A spokesperson for Vodafone told the Daily Record: "We've had a technical fault at one of our sites today.

"This began shortly after 9am, and we fixed the issue at around 10am. We would like to apologise to customers that were affected."

According to reports, 79 per cent of complainants were unable to access landline internet, while 11 per cent faced mobile phone issues. However, only 9 per cent of reports concerned problems with mobile internet.

Customers took to social media to vent their frustrations, with those affected seeking answers by contacting Vodafone UK's official Twitter page.

One user tweeted: "Is there network issues this morning? I see DownDetector is reporting lots of issues with Vodafone services this morning, including my own broadband."

Vodafone's Twitter account promptly responded to customers, asking them to send a direct message to speak with an employee directly.
