Vladimir Weiss prompts X-rated Celtic rant by former player

A former Celtic player has described Slovan Bratislava's captain Vladimir Weiss as a 'f*****g d***'.

Mark Wilson went on an X-rated rant about the ex-Rangers winger while appearing on Open Goal today.

The Slovakian led his team out at Celtic Park last night for the opening game of their respective Champions League campaigns.

Brendan Rodgers' side made easy work of the European minnows, who looked badly out of their depth. The Scottish Premiership winners ran out 5-1 winners.

Weiss was loudly booed throughout his time on the pitch until his was subbed late in the game.

Of course, he was part of Walter Smith's side in the 2010/11 season who claimed the title for Rangers.

And Wilson couldn't help but laugh at the treatment the Hoops fans gave the attacker, as he went on a sweary rant about the 34-year-old.

"He was a p****, Weiss. He was," Wilson said. "Remember it was that period where (El Hadji) Diouf and all that was there and they had a squad with some individuals that were just...

"I Remember Sammy (Georgios Samaras) missed the penalty at Ibrox, Rangers won the league and then in the celebrations I'm sure he set up the penalty, into McGregor and he played it out and they all started celebrating.

"He was a f*****g d*** so he was. I was buzzing. I couldn't believe he was captain of them last night!"

Meanwhile, Former Chelsea ace Joe Cole reckons Celtic's Champions League success comes down to "clever business" off the pitch.

The pundit stated the Parkhead club had been a "non-entity" in Europe as he remarked on previous campaigns but insisted there is potential to make an impact under Brendan Rodgers.

Cole - who was appearing on TNT Sports - cited the recruitment done by Celtic as a crucial factor in having success in Europe following the 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava.
