Vladimir Putin daughter's new love is ex Kremlin foe who complained about police torture

Vladimir Putin ’s glamorous daughter has a new love in her life - who once complained about "police torture" under the warmongering president's laws.

Maria Vorontsova is now married to Yevgeny Nagorny, 33, who complained over a decade ago online about “police torture” under Putin’s repressive rules.

But he has since switched from Kremlin to loyalist, bagging a lucrative job with a close crony of strongman Putin.

The US this week placed sanctions on Maria and her sister Katerina, 35.

Yevgeny in the past posted a video which likened Putin to greedy and treacherous billionaire Montgomery Burns from The Simpsons.

However, it's been reported he and Maria have a joint child, after Putin had sought to keep information about his private life quiet.

The revelations are from a joint investigation by independent media outlets Meduza and Nastoyashchee Vremya.

Pictures show Yevgeny with Maria from a wedding of doctor friends they attended near Salerno, Italy in 2019.

Maria was dancing with a short, bearded man in a bow tie at the nuptials, where she tried to catch the bride’s flowers. She appeared at the time to be pregnant.

Earlier Maria had been married to her Dutch businessman husband Jorrit Faassen, son of a Dutch NATO army colonel.

She had at least one son, now aged eight, with the Dutchman, say reports, but the marriage foundered.

Mr Faassen is known to have worked long term in Russia at Gazprombank-Invest and Stroytransgaz.

Meanwhile, Yevgeny's biography “does not look anything remarkable”, said the report.

He later worked for a customs broker and a fertiliser company, and appeared anti-Putin, being “interested in the opposition agenda”.

However, Yevgeny re-posted videos online which voiced concern over Putin’s repressive policies.

After meeting Maria, he abandoned his social media and as Putin’s “new unofficial son-in-law”, became a top manager of Novatek gas company, where Putin’s close friend, oligarch Gennady Timchenko, was a director.

By 2018 he was earning almost £90,000 a year.

He was also installed in a luxury high security home with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a pantry, a library, a wood-burning fireplace, a private terrace, "alpine-level air purification" and "spring-level water filtration.

Dr Maria Vorontsova, born when the Russian president was a KGB spy, is an expert in rare genetic diseases in children.

She is a leading researcher at the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

She was last year interviewed on Rossiya 24 channel on Russian efforts to combat rare genetic diseases in children, without it being revealed she was Putin’s daughter.

She explained that “nothing is a panacea” but that “genetic testing can help, for example, in the preconception stage” to “determine if parents are carriers of an unwanted gene”.

She said: “Genetic testing can help at the stage of preimplantation diagnosis with IVF, can help parents choose a healthy embryo.

“This is relevant for parents who have already had a child with a rare disease, genetically inherited.

“To me this is a very positive project, very correct.”

She is also an expert on dwarfism, according to reports.

Her divorced sister Katerina, deputy director of the Institute for Mathematical Research of Complex Systems at Moscow State University, is likewise from Putin’s former marriage to former Kremlin first lady Lyudmila.

Their half sister is Luiza Rozova, a 19-year-old heiress also known as Elizaveta Krivonogikh, from a previous relationship with cleaner-turned-multimillionaire Svetlana Krivonogikh, 45, now a part-owner of a major Russian bank.

Putin was once told by a BBC Russia reporter that it was an “open secret” that Maria and Katerina were his children, but declined to confirm them as his daughters.

Speculation that he has a family with rhythmic gymnast turned media mogul Alina Kabaeva, 38, have been met with official denials, but the rumours persist.

Putin has previously said: "I have a private life in which I do not permit interference. It must be respected.”

He deplored "those who with their snotty noses and erotic fantasies prowl into others' lives”.

Kabaeva is on record as saying she had met a man who "I love very much”, gushing: "Sometimes you feel so happy that you even feel scared."
