
It’s that time of the year when Sydney brings out the big guns for its iconic Vivid Sydney festival, which celebrates creativity, innovation and technology. It’s also that time of the year when your Instagram Feed is just pics of the Sydney Opera House, but reimagined. It’s truly glorious.
For this year’s festivities, Vivid Sydney’s main theme is ‘Dream’. But alongside the thought-provoking artistry and fun interactive installations, the festival boasts delectable grub and some damn good music, which includes live performances from your international faves.

Who is on the music lineup for Vivid Sydney 2025?
Music lovers can expect a jam-packed lineup for this year’s Vivid Music.
Kicking off with the major muso highlights, Tumbalong Nights will be making a return to Sydney’s iconic Darling Harbour with a focus on diaspora communities and First Nations artists who will be singing in their native languages.
Some acts for Tumbalong nights include Ayesha Madon, PASIFIX, Adrian Eagle + Jada Weazel, Mỹ Anh and Chi Xê, Body Type + Ripple Effect Band and many more!

Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory will host UK rapping duo Pete & Bas, as well as New Castle’s Steel City Dance Discs. Punters can also catch German electronic music icons Tangerine Dream and Soccer Mommy at City Recital Hall.
Now, for the biggie, Vivid Live at Sydney Opera House will boast more than 50 international and Aussie artists including Anohi and The Johnsons, Beth Gibbons from Portishead, Sigur Rós accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Japanese Breakfast, Marlon Williams, Ravyn Lenae, Miss Kanninna, SAHXL and heaps more!!

And if you’re craving a more festival feel, Carriageworks will also host a bunch of artists including Mall Grab, Ngaiire, and Skeggs!

What is on the food lineup for Vivid Sydney 2025?
Boy, oh boy. Alongside the lights and music, the food is what gets the foot traffic flowing!
Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson will create three Vivid Sydney Dinners at the newly opened pedestrian tunnel Muru Giligu in Martin Place that will take place from June 6 – 8.

And as always, the iconic Vivid Fire Kitchen will be returning alongside the Vivid Chef Series.
Across from the Vivid Fire Kitchen, foodies can lounge at the ‘Spice Lounge’, where they can soak in all the yummy goodness around a warm fire. Vivid Food will also seep into Surry Hills’ Hollywood Quarter, which will feature more gigs and food trails!

What artwork can we expect from Vivid Sydney 2025?
Dust off all your digi, film and phone cameras, ‘cos Vivid Sydney 2025 is bringing the BOOM with its 2025 festival.
For Sydney Opera House’s Lighting of the Sails, art enthusiasts can expect the bold and unapologetic work of late Australian creative powerhouse David McDiarmid, entitled Kiss Of Light (2005).

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia will host Vincent Namatjira‘s King Dingo, and Sydney fashion house Romance Was Born will debut the House of Romance on the Customs House.
As for installations, 3D Projections and interactive art, Vivid’s Light Walk will include voice-activated animations, suspended swings, a tennis match with lights, suspended swings and more!
Who is speaking at Vivid Sydney 2025?
With Vivid Sydney’s focus on Dream, a lot of the chats up for grabs will delve deep into the topics of ideas and inspiration.
Some of these amazing chats and experiences include D.W. Pine‘s (Creative Director of Time Magazine) keynote Where Do Ideas Come From? and Professor Mathew Walker‘s Why We Sleep.
For those who are itching for all things Stranger Things, Luna Park Sydney will be hosting an immersive, interactive adventure titled Stranger Things: The Experience.
