Statutory engineering inspection capability has emerged in the Humber region.
Hessle-based Bureau Technical Services, a key provider to the global energy sector, has launched a new arm of its business with the region’s growth in its sights.
Until the launch organisations in the area have had to rely on expertise from outside of the leading industrial cluster, often meaning longer wait times for support and inconsistency in service.

David Blanchard, managing director, has invested heavily to offer the capability on patch. He said: “We aim to offer a fresh approach to statutory inspection in this area. Following our high standards of service and existing quality accreditations, building a team of experienced engineers, and offering the ability for local organisations to manage their compliance has been met with open arms.”
All organisations using engineering equipment such as lifting or pressure-based systems must undergo the statutory inspection of their assets at regular intervals as set out by law. It stretches from farms and automotive garages, to retail and manufacturing. Statutory inspection ensures all equipment is safe and adequate documentation is held for auditing and insurance purposes.
A team of engineers is now led by Richard Wood, who brings 15 years of experience in the sector as business unit director. He said: “I am delighted to have joined Bureau Technical Services and bring a new approach to compliance in the area. We pride ourselves on delivering that personal touch back to the sector. We’ve worked hard to implement the right systems, recruit the best engineers available and work with the clients who are already knocking at the door for support”.
