A former British Airways Boeing 747 will be transformed into a winter wonderland. Families can meet and greet Father Christmas and his elves on board the plane at Cotswold Airport, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire.
From November 25 until December 24, visitors armed with boarding passes and customised North Pole passports, will be guided through the 'naughty or nice security check-in' and then seated in Premium Economy for an in-flight 'elf-and-safety' briefing hosted by Peppermint, the head Elf.
Guests then make their way through the festively-decorated aircraft, complete with snow, real Christmas trees and a Northern Lights-inspired display, passing elves who are hard at work wrapping presents, then through a big red door and into Father Christmas’ 'office'. Here, visitors meet Santa for photos and gather around the log fire for a group story. Children will leave with a book and a packet of reindeer food.

As visitors disembark, they will meet Mrs Claus in a full-size gingerbread house where they can decorate their own gingerbread to take home. Finally, children will be led into a toy factory, where they will meet elves busy assembling toys ready to be wrapped. Each child will have the chance to pick a teddy bear, build it and take it home. Adults get a mince pie and hot mulled wine.
Suzannah Harvey, CEO of Cotswold Airport at Kemble, said: "We’re thrilled Father Christmas will be visiting us this Christmas. It’s the first time he’s been on a 747 and we hope he enjoys the upgrade from his usual sleigh. Father Christmas has plenty of special and exciting things planned, and we look forward to welcoming all the families and children for this truly unique grotto experience."
Bethyn Barrass, director of Odin Events added: "We love creating show-stopping experiences. This is a truly unique festive experience that the whole family will enjoy. It’s a great way to kick off our three-year partnership with Cotswold Airport."
Tickets for this world-first grotto experience are £20 per adult and £35 per child and can be purchased by clicking here.
