Football stars Sergio Aguero, Thibaut Courtois and Arthur Melo have joined the driver line-up for the Formula 1 Virtual Spanish Grand Prix.
The trio will line up alongside F1 drivers Alex Albon, Antonio Giovinazzi, George Russell, Nicholas Latifi, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc.
The fifth round of the esports series will take place at the F1 2019 virtual representation of the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona on May 10, the weekend of the originally scheduled Spanish Grand Prix.
Manchester City striker Aguero will make his debut for Red Bull Racing alongside Albon, who won his first Virtual Grand Prix last weekend at Interlagos after an epic battle with Leclerc.
Courtois returns to the grid for his second race and this time will be in the Alfa Romeo, while Barcelona's Arthur Melo will jump into the Haas cockpit alongside Pietro Fittipaldi.
British golfer Ian Poulter will make his third appearance for Renault, lining up alongside F3 driver Max Fewtrell as Christian Lundgaard drops out.
Drivers will join the race remotely and take part in an 18-minute qualifying session period where grid positions will be determined based on the drivers’ fastest lap time
That is then followed by a 33-lap race of the Barcelona circuit as the drivers go wheel-to-wheel to take the checkered flag.
The series has been well received so far by viewers, with 2.5 million views across F1’s digital platforms for the Interlagos race last time out.
