Virtual Meeting With Secret Service Director Rescheduled Due To Schedule

A virtual meeting between the House Homeland Security Committee and U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has been rescheduled to either tomorrow or Wednesday due to the director's busy schedule, as confirmed by a senior committee aide.

The meeting, which was initially set for Monday afternoon, had to be postponed to accommodate Cheatle's commitments.

Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark E. Green and ranking member Rep. Bennie Thompson reportedly engaged in discussions with the FBI assistant director on Monday afternoon in lieu of the planned meeting with Cheatle.

Kimberly Cheatle, the 27th director of the United States Secret Service (USSS), was appointed by President Biden in 2022, marking her as only the second woman in history to lead the agency.

Recent events have placed Cheatle under increased scrutiny, particularly following the assassination attempt on former President Trump that occurred on Saturday.
