A number of Virgin users are still voicing their frustrations, after a major email outage locked them out of accounts a fortnight ago. The firm's messaging servers were stricken with problems late last month, with customers completely blocked from accessing their accounts for over 24 hours.
At the time, Axel Wehrle, who is the Director of Customer Service at Virgin Media, said: "Unfortunately a part of the hardware that manages our mailbox platform experienced a failure, which overloaded the servers and caused service disruption for some email users."
And despite many since being reunited with their inboxes, others are still insisting that they're missing old emails which were stored in their accounts. Others meanwhile, say that they're faced with fresh problems logging in.

The Mirror reports that the powers that be are causing a massive headache for people scrambling for important data and documents stored on Virgin's servers, with some customers calling for compensation over matters. One customer, Steve, took to social media to vent: "I assume all Virgin media email customers are going to be compensated due to continuous loss of emails, I have lost really important emails this week that have affected ability to work as I was awaiting certificates via email. I’m sure I’m not alone."
Another, named Andy, went on: "Like many, I've lost all my personal folders & historic Blueyonder emails. I'm also doubting whether we'll ever get them back."
Meanwhile, another user, Edmond, echoed: "Virgin media is hopeless. I have had no email for days, they have lost all my wife’s emails and now they are not able to receive phone calls. What am I supposed to do?"
Speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for Virgin Media, said: "Following a recent issue with our email service, all Virgin Media email users are able to send and receive emails as normal. Unfortunately a small proportion of impacted users are currently unable to view historic emails in their inboxes.
"We know that this will be frustrating for those who have important emails and documents saved in their inboxes, and we apologise unreservedly for the inconvenience this is causing. Fixing this issue is taking longer than we anticipated but our teams are working flat out to fully restore all historic emails as soon as possible."
Alongside a loss of messages, come users have complained that they can't log back into their accounts through fresh issues today. Replying to one user, Virgin wrote: "Hi Julie, we are aware that some customers are experiencing issues with their email service and are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.
"Our teams are working flat out to fully restore all emails as soon as possible."
It's unclear at the time of writing whether today's problems are related to those back in June.
