Virgin Media viewers have been left sickened by the realities of the cosmetic industry were exposed by Lucy Kennedy in the latest episode of Lucy Investigates.
We've already seen the popular TV host have a look into the culture of sex parties in Ireland, but last night's episode was focused solely on cosmetics and what we may not know about it.
As RSVP Live report, Lucy even looked into a consultation herself.
However, it was the ins and outs of the surgeries and procedures which left viewers reeling.
Many blamed the internet for perpetuating unrealistic images of women and men onto people, with Botox and filler being popular as a result of the perceptions.
One person asked: “Are they happy though Lucy? as many of them seem insecure and addicted to having work done, probably lash into the facetune too even after all the surgeries/filler, why not address the cause of the problem which is social media & unrealistic beauty standards?”
A second commenter said: “Would any of these women consider counselling/therapy to work on whats going on before having someone carve into their face & inject them over & over?? “I’m talking about the ppl who keep having surgeries/filler not the ppl who fix 1 thing & feel better & move on”.
A third viewer wrote: “This program is actually just sad, the Kardashians & Instagram have warped so many women into making themselves look terrible without surgeries/filler while thinking they look good”.
Others couldn’t believe that some people were putting themselves in harmful situations to access plastic surgery and filler.
One person commented: "Buying filler on ALI EXPRESS!!!!”
A second viewer shared: "ou’d want to be nuts to go to Turkey for any kind of plastic surgery. So many horror stories, there’s a reason it’s cheap.”
Another fan praised Lucy for her incredible interviewing skills throughout the programme, saying: “Is it just me or does @KennedyLucy come across like the loveliest, sincere, non judgemental woman! She can chat to anyone about anything!”
