A number of viewers disagreed with Brian Kerr and Richard Dunne's comments following Liverpool's 2-0 win away to Inter Milan on Wednesday night.
Late goals from Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah gave the Premier League side a smash and grab win in the San Siro, but both Kerr and Dunne were not overly impressed with what they saw from Jurgen Klopp's men.
Speaking on Virgin Media after the game, Kerr claimed that Liverpool "got away with it a bit".
He said: "There was a fair bit of chaos in the match. Seemingly, Klopp likes organised chaos and they got away with it at times. Defensively, they were found wanting, particularly Trent Alexander Arnold, who Perisic had a field day for a lot of the match out there against him.
"Dzeko had lots of chances in the game, he's just not good enough.
"Before the match we talked about him and said he's having a very good season, scoring lots of goals, but Liverpool signed Dias for whatever the fee was €50million as a backup to three really smashing front players."
When asked if Klopp got away with one, Kerr added: "I think he did a bit. The match was a bit chaotic at times, a lot of tackles, one to one challenges, scraps, no great fluency to Liverpool's play, Inter Milan looked the better team for the 20 minutes of the second half.
"But in fairness to Klopp he made the substitutions. He'd four fresh players on the pitch and that affected the game. Firmino had a big influence getting the breakthrough goal. They hadn't had a clear cut chance in the match until then, whereas at the other end Inter Milan had numerous chances."
But a number of fans took to social media to argue with Kerr's comments.
One person tweeted: "You'd think we were battered the way they're talking. The stats say otherwise."
Someone else commented: "Brian Kerr on @VMSportIE saying Liverpool struggled to break teams down in the league this season unlike Man City - 61 goals scored each and Liverpool took a game less to do it."
Another tweet read: "Kerr is somebody I like normally but from the off he was negative.
