Virgin Media down: Thousands of broadband customers report loss of Wi-Fi

Thousands of Virgin Media customers are reporting problems connecting to Wi-Fi.

As of shortly before 11am on Monday, nearly 9,000 users had flagged issues with their internet connection with the website Downdetector.co.uk.

A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “We’re aware that some customers are experiencing intermittent issues with their services.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and are working to fix this as a priority.”

More than two thirds of the complaints on Downdetector are relating to loss of landline internet services.

A heatmap of affected areas shows they are concentrated in cities across the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Plymouth.

Virgin Media has over 5.8million broadband customers in the UK.

People have taken to social media to express their frustration about the outage this morning.

One user said: “Wifi issues again and unable to access any Virgin Media help as it seems nothing is working...”

Another user made a jab at the internet provider, saying: “Oh look, Virgin Media is on fire again. Must be the weekly outage.”
