Virgil Van Djik praises 'composed' Liverpool after rout against Rangers

LIVERPOOL star Virgil Van Djik has praised his side's 'composed' performance at Ibrox after the Premier League club thrashed Rangers.

The Reds won 7-1, which included a six-minute hat-trick from Mohamed Salah off the bench.

And the Dutch international, who used to play for Celtic, was very complimentary of his teammates after the full-time whistle.

Speaking to BT Sport after the match, he said: "We passed the ball very well, side-to-side and between the lines and played with composure.

"In the first half, we could have did it better, but we were much more focused in the second half.

"It was a great result and a good night in Glasgow.

"Our strikers had to come at Rangers in this game, and we know space would be there if we played well.

"The quality they showed tonight is something we need for the rest of the season, they scored good goals.

"It is not a bad thing to win 7-1 here. Obviously, from an outside perspective, everyone expected us to win here, but we take things game by game."
