Can you believe how time flies? It’s already been 10 years of Australia’s involvement in the world’s biggest annual music competition, Eurovision Song Contest. This time around, the musician flying the Aussie flag is none other than our very own viral pop sensation Go-Jo!!!
The 29-year-old Sydney-based musician will be bringing his signature glossy pop stylings to the 69th (teehee) Eurovision Song Contest which will be kicking off in Basel, Switzerland in May.

For Go-Jo, landing the gig representing Australia on the world stage has been “absolutely mindblowing”.
“I suppose being asked to represent a whole nation is the collect and most honourable feeling a person could ever feel, in my opinion,” Go-Jo told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“I still can’t wrap my head around it.”
Now, juuuust in case you haven’t heard of the Perth-born singer-songwriter, let me fill you in.
Go-Jo, whose off-stage name is Marty Zambotto, is a 29-year-old singer-songwriter who had a pretty unique rise to fame. Despite working hard on his craft by writing, busking and performing, he was one of the lucky few who went mind-bogglingly viral overnight after he posted a video performing his track “Mrs Hollywood”.
At the time of writing, one of the clips of the track — which included an incredible guitar solo from a punter on the street — is sitting at a whopping 49.7 million views. Not too shabby!
While the world has already fallen in love with him and his banger track “Mrs Hollywood”, just wait until you hear his entry for Eurovision — an incredibly catchy track called “Milkshake Man”.
You can listen to it below.
Sweet, sweet, yum, yum — am I right?!?!?!
To Go-Jo, “Milkshake Man” is a whole lot more than just being a catchy soon-to-be hit.
“The song is about confidence and embodying it wholeheartedly,” he explains.
“I’m basically the mascot of free expression, being an individual and feeling like your most colourful self. I want people to be walking down the street, feeling like the loudest, proudest version of themselves and it’s something that I’ve always wanted to write a song about.”

After 10 years of Australia being included in Eurovision, Go-Jo is honoured to be following in the footsteps of stellar Aussie acts like Voyager, Kate Miller-Heidke and Dami Im, just to name a few. Now, he’s excited to bring his own zest to life and performance to the campy Eurovision stage.
“The Eurovision stage is the biggest stage in the world and I’ve always seen it as the biggest stage to express yourself freely and show the world how fun each country is and showcase the talent that goes on,” he said.
“You can be extraordinary on the Eurovision stage as well, which I love. There are no boundaries, there are no limits. It’s just free expression.”
The Eurovision Song Contest is held from Tuesday May 13 to Saturday May 17. You can watch it on SBS and SBS On Demand.
