Viral claims of Hells Angels heading to Aurora remain unsubstantiated amid Tren de Aragua gang violence

In recent days, social media has been flooded with claims that members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, a group frequently associated with international criminal activities, are heading to Aurora, Colorado, to confront the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. While these rumors have ignited widespread discussion and concern, they remain unverified by official sources.

Where do these claims come from?

Recently, footage surfaced of gang members, believed to be members of Venezuelan-born gang Tren de Aragua, taking over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. Local law enforcement has formed a task force aimed at taking them down.

The images show a group of hooded individuals wielding rifles and pistols pounding a door and entering different apartments while one speaks over the phone.

Tren de Aragua is notorious for its involvement in drug trafficking, extortion, and violent crimes, both in Venezuela and in other countries where its members have migrated.

Local law enforcement has been actively monitoring the situation, increasing patrols, and working to curb the gang's influence in the community. However, the idea that the Hells Angels might intervene in this situation has not been substantiated by any credible sources.

Unverified Hells Angels viral content

Hells Angels speculations began shortly after the apartment complex video was publicized. Thousands of videos and posts appeared on platforms like X and TikTok, suggesting that the Hells Angels were preparing to take action against the Tren de Aragua. Hashtags like #HellsAngels and #AuroraColorado quickly trended as users shared videos allegedly showing Hells Angels members heading toward the city.

The content used to support these claims has faced intense scrutiny on social media. While many X and TikTok users assert that the videos are authentic, others are pointing out inconsistencies, such as indications that the footage was filmed on foreign highways, questionable sources, and the reuse of old or unrelated content.

The video embedded below, which is one of the most popular pieces of content linked to this trend, has been fact-checked by social media platform X. Under the video, X writes, "This video does not show Hells Angels riding to Aurora, Colorado to fight against Venezuelan gang members. They are Brazilian bikers being escorted by the São Paulo State Highway Police."

Despite the viral nature of these images, no official confirmation has been provided by the Hells Angels or law enforcement agencies. The Hells Angels' official website remains silent on the matter, with no mention of any such plans or activities.

The Latin Times reached out to the Aurora Police Department (APD) and various Hells Angels U.S. chapters questioning them about these claims, we did not receive their responses before the publication of this article.

Inside the Hells Angels

The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, founded in 1948 in California, has a long and controversial history. While the club depicts itself as a symbol of freedom and brotherhood, law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and DOJ, have repeatedly linked the Hells Angels to organized crime across the world.

Most recently a senior Hells Angels member, considered one of Australia's most wanted criminals, was detained in Dubai. In June, multiple Hells Angels members were arrested in Bakersfield, California. Suspects were charged with kidnapping, first-degree robbery, criminal conspiracy, and assault with a firearm, among other crimes.

Despite its criminal history, no evidence suggests that the Hells Angels are currently planning any vigilante-style movement in Aurora against Tren de Aragua.
