The New York police department made four arrests after a subway fight video with 2.9m views piqued officers’ interest.

The four-person brawl was captured on a cellphone recording at 5am Saturday on an F train in Manhattan. The two-minute video shows a woman taunting a man’s choice of jacket as other riders cheer her on and watch.

Just before the one-minute mark Danay Howard, a 21-year-old Manhattan resident, knocks the cameraman’s phone from his hands twice.

Immediately afterward, she jeers the man in the jacket as he walks by, 25-year-old Jorge Pena.

“What’d you call me?” Howard says, and swats Pena on the back of the head.

Pena spins around and slaps Howard, loudly, with an open palm, setting off a swift reaction from Kevin Gil, 21, and Shanique Campbell, 20, who jump into the fray.

Police charged all with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct except Howard. She was charged with felony assault.
