Violent thug told ex he'd 'crush her skull and watch her die'

A violent thug told his ex-girlfriend "I will stab you and watch you die" and flashed his penis in the middle of the street.

Kyle Brook, 28, began sending vile messages to his former partner on December 30 2022, just two days after he was released from prison following a three-year sentence for assaulting another woman.

On New Year's Eve, he bombarded her with threatening texts, telling her: "I'm a bad druggie, I'm dangerous". He threatened to hit her, to set her house on fire, to "carve up" any man he saw her with, and told her: "I will crush your skull".

He continued to message her on New Year's Day, telling her: "I will rape you. It's more of a turn-on to me than t******s". He said he would "smack anyone in his way", and warned her that if she called the police he would rape her.

The harassment continued for more than two months, with Brook turning up at the victim's house on two occasions and threatening her. On January 16 he said: "I will f***ing kill you. I will stab you and watch you die."

At Liverpool Crown Court, prosecutor Lee Bonner said: "On this same day, the defendant turned up at the claimant's home drunk and kicked the gate open. He flashed his penis in the street and threatened to defecate in the road if she did not talk to him."

The woman did not hear from Brook throughout February 2023, but on March 2 he began texting her again, telling her: "I may have gone to prison for punching a girl but that meant nothing to me, just like you don't now." Two days later, he reappeared at her home and attempted to climb over the fence, cutting his hand in the process.

Mr Bonner said: "She handed him a tissue through the window but he then became aggressive, ripped the window open and tried to climb through it."

When the woman spoke to police on March 12, she told them she had 108 missed calls from Brook, and more than 100 emails.

She said: "His actions have scarred me massively in more ways than anyone could imagine. I don't think anyone deserves that level of abuse. I want to go forward and never see him again. He will never realise what hurt and pain he has caused me."

Brook, of Warrington Road, Warrington, pleaded guilty to harassment and appeared in court today, July 10.

The dad of one, who has three previous convictions for nine offences including domestic violence, said: "Words cannot describe how sorry I am for the way I have acted. I'm disgusted with myself."

Carmel Wilde, defending, said: "He now realises his relationship is over. He does wish to atone for his actions in due course by providing for his son."

Addressing Brook, His Honour Judge Stuart Driver KC said: "The facts include a huge number of texts with your victim, including many messages of the worst sort imaginable. Multiple threats of serious violence, threats to kill, threats to rape her and to enjoy doing it. You also visited her home on more than one occasion.

"Your conduct was intended to maximise fear and distress and it was prolonged over a long period. It's hard to imagine messages which were more extreme in their intention to cause fear and distress."

He added: "I have no doubt you are a real danger to women."

He sentenced Brook to three years and three months in prison, and made a 10-year restraining order preventing him contacting the victim.
