Vinnie Jones marks seven years of sobriety with sweet picture of late wife Tanya

Vinnie Jones marked seven years of sobriety by sharing a beautiful throwback picture of himself and his late wife.

The footballer-turned-actor gave up the booze in 2013.

And now, he believes alcohol is the "worst drug on the planet".

Sharing a beautiful picture of himself and Tanya together, he wrote on Twitter : "Tomorrow is my 7 year alcohol DRY anniversary, the worst drug on this planet will get found out one day!!!

"If I can quit, believe me; you can, and your life will be a million percent better! I guarantee it.

"Join me! Get yourself dry and get your life back on track. #health"

Vinnie, 55, was devastated when his wife Tanya lost her cancer battle last year at the age of 53.

But it's clear that she'll always be a huge part of his life as he thought of her while celebrating his sobriety milestone.

The Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star first addressed his alcoholism in 2013.

It was after he was pictured kidding Russian singer Lama Safonova outside a bar in Moscow that he issued a public apology to his wife and revealed he had entered therapy.

He wrote about it in his autobiography It's Been Emotional.

Vinne penned: "That incident caused the biggest test of my 20 years of marriage. We've been through everything and this angel is still there for me through thick and thin...

"I had risked everything that mattered to me over a stupid night out in Russia...

"That is the lowest I've seen Tans in all the time we have been together... Now I know we have a lot of work still to do, but we both love each other more than anything on the planet and that is getting us through...

Vinnie on X Factor (ITV)

"That is why, for the first time in my life, I have started seeing a psychologist. I have virtually given up drinking alcohol...

"I've been going to see (my psychologist) once a week for eight months. For an alcoholic to combat problems, he or she has to admit to those problems first."

Vinnie, who took part in the celebrity version of X Factor last year, was inundated with well-wishes after sharing his milestone.

One fan wrote: "Congrats mate....its 8years dry for me Easter Sunday"

Another penned: "well done vinnie best thing i ever did was quit drinking n i dont miss it one little bit!"
