MIAMI — Someone buy this man a guayabera.
Vince Vaughn was spotted over the weekend at Bang Model Volleyball tournament on the sands of Miami Beach, decked out in all black.
Locals know that this color doesn’t mesh well with the sunny climate, but we will cut the actor some slack. The Minneapolis native was raised outside Chicago, so he is likely used to dressing for cold weather in March.
So, beside watching models in bikinis compete for charity, Vaughn is in the Magic City for work.
The 51-year-old “Wedding Crashers” star is shooting the upcoming Apple series “Bad Monkey,” based on Miami Herald columnist Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel of the same name.
The married father of two turned heads this month in Key West. Locals lined up in February at a casting call search for extras at the Comedy Key West club.
Key West residents have been sharing their Vaughn sightings on social media, including one widely shared photo of the star riding a bicycle — as he waves to the photographer — along Greene Street by Duval that went up March 9.
Cast and crew members spent time filming at the Key West Historic Seaport. At one point, the film crew used their gear to make it rain near the Half Shell Raw Bar for a scene. Another location was outside RockHouse Live Key West on Duval.
Vaughn plays Andrew Yancy, a former Miami cop turned health inspector for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office who is investigating a very Florida case involving a human arm (and a monkey). So expect to see Vaughn around town. You can’t miss him; he’s 6-foot-5 — and wears black on the beach.
