Vince McMahon Has a Passionate Reaction When Asked About His New Role Within WWE

WWE is celebrating after pulling off the most successful Wrestlemania of all time this weekend right before announcing a deal to sell itself to sports entertainment company Endeavor Group (EDR).

The wrestling sports entertainment company had numerous suitors, but is now part of a $21 billion company in Endeavor.

Vince's tweet Monday was in stark contrast to the last tweet he made nearly a year ago.

But apparently Vince isn't going anywhere.

"I love what I do. I loved building WWE. All my life, it's my passion. And to have an opportunity to have it grow like this in an exponential way ... can't be better than that," McMahon told CNBC.

When asked about previous comments made by WWE CEO Nick Khan suggesting that McMahon was willing to walk away following a sale, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel said that Vince wasn't going anywhere.

"I wasn't going to let him. We've had a relationship for 23 years. There's a trust. There's a friendship. When you're going into business going forward that's important. I'm glad that he chose us because it was a very competitive situation," Emanuel said.

Endeavor, the parent company of combat sports league UFC, will hold a 51% stake in the company with existing WWE shareholders owning 49%.

When asked what would happen if there's a disagreement between Executive Chairman Vince McMahon and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel over the direction of the company, McMahon quipped, "Well what happens there is we have a little content in the ring."
