Villarreal v Liverpool kick-off time, TV channel, live stream info and team news

Villarreal host an in-form Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final tonight.

The quadruple-chasing Reds are aiming to reach the Champions League final for the third time in five years. To stop this Villarreal must overturn a 2-0 deficit. The 2019 winners of this competition will be determined to make sure their hopes of winning the record-breaking quadruple don’t end against the Yellow Submarine. Here is everything you need to know.

What time is Villarreal v Liverpool?

Villarreal v Liverpool kicks off at 8pm on Tuesday, May 3, at Estadio de le Cerámica.

Is Villarreal v Liverpool on TV? What about streaming?

Yes, the match will be broadcast on BT Sport 2, with coverage starting from 7pm.

The option to live stream the match is available with a BT Sport monthly pass, without signing up to a contract.

Regular BT Sport subscribers can stream matches via the BT Sport website or BT Sport app.

What’s the latest team news?

Villarreal could be without a few of their key players as they face a fresh injury doubt over former Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma who withdrew from the game at the weekend against Alaves due to discomfort in his foot.

Gerard Moreno, who missed the first leg due to recurring hamstring injuries, trained with the team this week.

Liverpool rested first-team players against Newcastle at the weekend, including Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho. They are all expected to start in the second leg of the semi-final.

The Reds' sole absentee is Roberto Firmino who’s still nursing the foot injury he picked up against Man City in the FA Cup semi-final.

What have the managers said?

Unai Emery: "We will try and find some weak spots, something that no one has done this season. It is a difficult task but we are working on the game. We know coming back from 2-0 is very complicated and in this case, it is beneficial that the away goals have been cancelled. The stadium factor was very important for Liverpool and I would like to think it will make a difference for us.

"What can change? We play in front of our fans for starters. Second, we need to win. Third, we need to defend but there are many ways to defend. We need to play a fantastic defensive game, different to what we did at Liverpool, and from then onwards try to find something we didn't over there, which is to find our game."

Jurgen Klopp: "We know that it is half-time. In the best possible way we have to ignore the result from the first leg. If it were a cup game where only one game decided, and we had to go to Villarreal, we would try to win there.

"We know they will give all they have, that is absolutely clear. With all the things Unai said after the game… it's going to be a tough one but that is completely fine. Champions League semi-finals should be tough; we never expect them to be easy and this will not be easy. But we played a good game at home and we better play a good game there as well."
