A village near Bristol has been named as one of the best hidden gems to visit in the UK. Bibury, in the Cotswolds, ranked at number six out of 24 villages and is a little over an hour's drive away from the city.
It's a charming village just over six miles from Cirencester, which is considered to be the capital of the Cotswolds. Home to less than a thousand people, it's becoming more desirable to holidaymakers in the UK for its quaintness.
Renowned 19th-century artist William Morris once called it the most beautiful village in all of England. It is easy to see why with its well-preserved honey-coloured cottages from the 17th century that make you feel like you're stepping back in time.

The famous Arlington Row, the street home to many of these cottages, dates back even further to 1380 and was first built as a monastic wool store for the neighbouring mill. The Grade I-listed building is owned by the National Trust and is pictured on the inside of all British passports.
Just 90 minutes away from Bristol is Blockley, another Cotswolds village that also appeared on the list of the UK's best. It's known for its stunning churches and has a fascinating history, being the main centre of the silk industry in the 18th and 19th Centuries with the silk mills using the waters of the brook which runs through the centre of the village.
Holiday rental company HomeToGo has identified and ranked the top 24 hidden gem villages across the UK for the summer holidays in 2022. Each location was ranked based on a number of factors including climate, rainfall, how many pubs are in the area and how under the radar the village is.
