Villa Park stadium in Birmingham will host the opening round of the 2023 World Supercross Championship this summer.
The home of Aston Villa FC will welcome the global dirt bike racing championship that takes place inside stadiums and combines races and stunts with live music and pyrotechnics.
UK riders Dean Wilson and Max Anstie are set to take part in the event on July 1 which will see ten teams and 40 of the best riders from around the globe competing.
The World Supercross Championship is an international competition organised and run by Australian firm SX Global and last year was its pilot season as a worldwide event, having previously been held just in the US.
As a result of this new-look world championship, fans outside of the US are able to see global superstars race in their country. The Principality Stadium in Cardiff played host to round one last year and the UK has been chosen again to kick off the 2023 season.
Later rounds of the championship will visit Europe, Canada and Asia before the final round in Melbourne where SX Global is headquartered.
Chief executive Adam Bailey said: "We had 35,000 fans turnout at Principality Stadium last year for our first Grand Prix which showed just how passionate the British fans are about the sport and the appetite they have for World Supercross Championship racing on home soil.
"Now it's Birmingham's turn to host the World Supercross Championship's season opener and it will be the only opportunity to witness the championship in the UK and watch elite supercross athletes compete for a world championship title.
"World Supercross Championship is building on its mission to transform supercross into a global sport with the calendar expanding to six rounds on four continents in 2023 and we're thrilled to be heading back to Britain to kick off the season again."
