A vile man told the mother of his baby that he wished she had a “slow and painful death.”
David Adams and his partner Lauren McGinlay were drinking at a pub in Bridge of Weir in December last year, when he fell out with her because she didn’t buy him a drink when he was at the toilet.
Then Adams, 34, sent McGinlay a catalogue of abusive text messages via WhatsApp spanning over six weeks before she contacted police.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard Adams and McGinlay had been in a relationship for about 12 months with it coming to an end in August 2021.
The pair also have a six-month old baby together.
Procurator fiscal depute Maria Murdoch told the court: “On December 18, the accused and the complainer were in a pub in Bridge of Weir trying to make their relationship work for the benefit of their son.
“Around 11.30pm, the accused left the bar as he had fallen out with the complainer after she didn’t buy him a drink while he was at the toilet.
“Adams went back to McGinlay’s property in Houston Road and videoed himself kicking her door and he sent her the video on WhatsApp.”

Court heard McGinlay made her way back to her home where she was met by Adams who was shouting at her.
Both went inside and continued drinking before Adams fell asleep and left the following day.
Ms Murdoch added: “On December 21, the complainer got a WhatsApp message from Adams stating: ‘have a s**t life and die a slow and painful death.’
“On January 15, the complainer was out for her birthday when she got numerous messaged from the accused and they included voice noted of him shouting and swearing with him calling her a, ‘wh*re,’ ‘sl*t and a ‘fat cow.’
“On January 28, the complainer was with a friend when she got multiple messages from Adams stating, ‘f**k up you stupid cow’ and ‘f**k off then you a******e.’”
Bitter Adams also sent messages including the phrases: “You dirty wee cow” and “away getting pu**ed, hope you performed better for them than you did for me.”
Ms Murdoch added: “During these messages, Adams sent voice notes where he was shouting saying the complainer was a bad mother and he made comments he was going to meet his ex-partner and have sex with her and he blamed the complainer for him doing this.”
On January 29, police were contacted and Adams was arrested.
Adams admitted that between December 18, 2021 and January 29, this year, that he attended at Lauren McGinlay's home address and repeatedly kick the door and thereafter send a video to her of him kicking the door causing damage and that he sent messages on various occasions making threats of violence and derogatory remarks.
Defence agent Charlie McCusker requested background reports were prepared for the first-time offender.
Sheriff Bruce Erroch QC deferred sentencing for the preparation of a criminal justice social work report.
Adams of Second Avenue in Clydebank will return to court for sentencing on April 21.
