In 2022, the European Parliament voted to no longer consider Hungary a true democracy due to Orbán's actions. The parliament has condemned Orbán's implementation of anti-LGBTQ laws, his increased influence over the judiciary, and his diplomatic engagements with Russia and China during the conflict in Ukraine.
