Those who caught the early screenings of the film, had only good things to say. Taking to Twitter, many gave the film 3-4 stars for the 'brilliant acting' by the leading men and the story that 'keeps you hooked'.

Although the Pushkar directorial is an official remake of the 2017 Tamil film, which saw Vijay Sethupathi and R. Madhavan in action, fans have left the theatre heaping praise saying, "A movie which is better than the original. You will forget the original once you watch the Hindi version."

Another said, "Hrithik’s Swag and Saif’s Intensity. The story keeps you hooked up till the end with lots of twists and turns. I did watch the original one but they nailed it all over again with this. Highly recommend."

"Hrithik as Vedha is his best combination of acting and star power since Agneepath. Absolutely electric. Saif gets a great role and knocks it out of the park. Loved his emotional scenes," said another.

The film follows Vikram, an honest officer with the Lucknow police, who is on a mission to find and eliminate gangster Vedha. However, when Vedha surrenders himself to the police, and starts narrating his side of the story, it alters the understanding of good and evil.
