Vikings WR Jordan Addison goes down with ankle injury during joint practice

When it rains, it pours for the Minnesota Vikings. It seems that the injury bug isn’t done biting the team. On Wednesday, the day started with rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy was ruled out for the year following surgery for a full meniscus repair.

Later that same afternoon, wide receiver Jordan Addison suffered an ankle injury during joint practices with the Cleveland Browns.

Addison went down holding his ankle and needed assistance getting taken off the practice field. The cart immediately came out and took him to be evaluated.

Later on, coach Kevin O’Connell told the media that Addison was “going to be okay” and that they believed he avoided anything serious. He also mentioned that Addison will not practice with the teams on Thursday.

The Vikings offense is holding on by a thread with their injuries heading into the 2024 season. Apart from McCarthy and Addison, starting tight end T.J. Hockenson is rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered on Christmas Eve of last year.
