This year the NFL Draft has a historically deep cornerback class, and the Minnesota Vikings are ensuring they do their homework on the prospects. According to Jon Sokoloff of WCBI News, the Vikings are hosting Mississippi State cornerback Emmannual Forbes on a top-30 visit.
Forbes is a feisty cornerback who has great length and finished the 2022 season with six interceptions, ranking sixth in college football. He’s known for using his length to make a play on the ball while being a willing run defender with physicality.
Forbes’ frame is similar to that of Cam Dantzler, whom the Vikings released this offseason. Because of that, the Vikings may be bringing in Forbes to vet out any concerns they may have with him.
Should the Vikings draft Forbes, it’d give the Vikings a young outside cornerback with upside to pair with the rest of their young cornerback group and a physical player who’d fit in Brian Flores’ scheme.
