According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Minnesota Vikings have signed former University of Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan to the practice squad.
This move likely comes after quarterback Nick Mullens appeared on the injury report with a back injury. He was limited on Wednesday during practice and this seems to be a procedural move.
Buy Vikings TicketsMorgan was a four-plus-year starter for the Golden Gophers and saw mixed results. The 2019 saw Morgan lead the Golden Gophers to an 11-2 record, the best in program history. However, the success wasn’t sustained, as Morgan never reached the heights of that 2019 season.
He went undrafted this past year, but was the eighth overall pick in the USFL draft. At the University of Minnesota, Morgan completed 62.2% of his passes for 9,464 yards, 65 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.
