Sunday’s Vikings matchup vs. the Falcons will be the team’s first without quarterback Kirk Cousins after he tore his Achilles during last week’s contest.
Cousins is expected to miss the rest of the 2023 season. He’s only missed two previous games with the Vikings since he joined the team in 2018, so understandably, many of his Vikings teammates aren’t used to taking the field without the quarterback.
Cousins’s teammates wanted to show support for their absent quarterback. Various players wore similar T-shirts with Cousins pictured all over them when they arrived to warm-ups in Atlanta on Sunday.
It was a sweet homage to their team leader.

Backup quarterback Jaren Hall will get his first NFL start on Sunday in Cousins's absence. He played in the fourth quarter of last week’s 24–10 win over the Packers after Cousins went down. Hall was seen wearing the Cousins shirt, too.
The Vikings also signed Joshua Dobbs as a backup quarterback earlier this week.
