The Minnesota Vikings have a multitude of needs in the upcoming offseason and arguably the biggest of them all is at wide receiver. In the latest mock draft from Draft Wire, Natalie Miller has the Vikings selecting wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba from Ohio State.
Smith-Njigba is going to be a prospect that is highly debated this year as analysts decide how much his speed will end up mattering. Miller didn’t express any concerns about that and believes that he can play on the outside.
“The Vikings found fireworks this season under new head coach Kevin O’Connell in what turned out to be Kirk Cousin’s best year yet. So, it makes sense to build upon your strengths, and add a running mate for your All-Pro wide receiver in Justin Jefferson.
Smith Njigba missed the majority of this season with injuries, but his 2021 campaign was astonishing, and should project him well to the NFL. While he’s more of an inside receiver, he has the ability to play outside, as well, and would create a dangerous trio in Minnesota.”
Getting Jefferson a running mate should be a priority in the draft especially with defense being the focus early on in last year’s draft.
