The Minnesota Vikings have needed a cornerback for what feels like the last eight years. They have tried multiple times to fix it, including in the first round.
You could argue for the sunk cost fallacy but the system being brought in by new defensive coordinator Brian Flores will prevent that from happening.
Adam Sites of Jaguars Wire also believes the Vikings need a cornerback by having them select Utah CB Clark Phillips III.
“The Vikings have some promising talent in the cornerback room with 2022 draft picks Andrew Booth and Akayleb Evans, but there’s no way the team can roll with that duo, Cameron Dantzler, and 33-year-old Patrick Peterson. In Phillips, Minnesota would add a unanimous All-American to that group.”
The Vikings honestly need talent in the room more than anything and Phillips III can do a little bit of everything, including playing both in the slot and on the outside.
