One position that we haven’t seen the Minnesota Vikings target in mock drafts so far is quarterback. PFF sent the Vikings Tanner McKee from Stanford and that raised some eyebrows due to the value but the quarterback Jarrett Bailey of Bears Wire sent to the Vikings at 23 will do so in a positive connotation.
Bailey has the Vikings selecting Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson who will be incredibly polarizing during the draft process. Here is what Bailey had to say about the Florida quarterback.
“Richardson is the draft darling of several analysts because of his dual-threat abilities. However, he is still incredibly raw, and going to a place where he can sit for a season would do him well.”
Raw is a relative term here. What Richardson does incredibly well is seeing the field and most importantly has tools eerily similar to that of Josh Allen. The arm strength, size, physicality and playmaking ability are all tremendous but he will need some nurturing to fully reach his potential.
Sitting him behind Kirk Cousins for a season would be an ideal scenario for him.
