Cornerback will be interesting to see how the Minnesota Vikings address the position. They could go with multiple draft picks like last year, fortify with top-end free agents or a little bit from both pools. Regardless, it needs to be addressed in a major way.
Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has the Vikings addressing the cornerback early in his latest NFL mock draft by selecting Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo.
“Minnesota’s terrible defense eventually caught up with them in the postseason, sending them to an early exit. They need to address it at just about every level this offseason, and the best value in this scenario comes at corner. Ringo’s film was a roller-coaster this season, but his physical traits give him tons of potential.”
I have Ringo currently graded as a second-round prospect but the traits are likely going to push him up into the first round. Per 247 Sports, Ringo is the 97th-highest-rated prospect of all time. He has the tools but can he put them together? Someone is going to value him highly due to his size and traits.
